life routine on a typical work day

5am - wake up, prepare breakfast for adam, washing dishes, clean up

(alternative: lipat kain, ironing)

6am - prepare myself to work (read: mandi)

7am - MUST start the car and out to Opah's house

(latest by 7:10am. otherwise, lepak dengan encik jem)

- reach office and start another routine schedule at work pulak

1pm - off to pick up adam from school

(12pm on Fridays)

- drop Adam at Opah's house then back to office and continue mundane office routine

4pm - pack my things and off I go

- pick up Adam & Alesya. (Adam goes to sekolah agama three days a week. So on those days, I'll be alone with Alesya)

-back at home, clean up, masak (eh.. menipu pulak rasa.. hehehe), start laundry, then dry it then fold, makan, celoteh dengan anak-anak & suami, etc, etc..

9pm - huarrghhh... zzzzz.....

boring pulak rasa.. kalo life as a housewife cenggana gamaknya?

Adam wants me to stay at home

Because he doesn't have to go to Opah's house.

He wants to stay at home play so that he can play with his iphone. And he can watch tv.

Not that he can spend time with me.

Mama: Adam, I think you have been swimming a lot lately

Adam: I love swimming, Mama. I really enjoy it

Mama: That's fine, sayang. But you always forget to apply the sun block on your skin. Like orang tua, like that

Adam: Eeeiiii... I'm not that old la

Mama: Then.. You always forget. Look at you now. Getting darker already

Adam: I'm not dark, Mama. I'm tanned. Just like Ayah.

Mama: Err.. Yeah! Tanned. Whatever. Make sure you apply sunblock next time.

Obviously Adam has better English vocabularies than I do. Huhu..

bila anak orang bertunang..

... Saya pulak terasa tua. Hahahaha...

Malam Sabtu tu, kami sekeluarga pegi engagement anak Kak An yang sulung, Alya. Meriah juga majlisnya. Anak perempuan sulung. Siap ada kambing golek ha..

Tengah-tengah majlis tu, tetiba perasaan ni macam berbaur-baur pulak. Rasa seronok ada, sayu pun ada. Dah tua ek?

Masa first time jumpa anak-anak Kak An rasa macam kerdilnya diriku ini. Hehe.. Anak-anak Kak An ni, boleh tahan sizenya. Umur pulak tak jauh beza dengan saya. Tu yang bila first time jumpa derang rasa tak puas hati je bila derang panggil "Aunty". Nak-nak si Adieb tu. Kehkehkeh..

Kak An punya kelam kelibut menyiap majlis, sampai terlupa nak amik hantaran dia daripada saya. Agaknya kot nanti time Adam sok macam mana pulak. Uishhh.. Mau berlari-lari tak cukup tanah mama Adam ni nanti.

Eh... Lupa nak perkenal.. Kak An ni mak kawan Adam kat sekolah. Kami ni rapat dari kindergarten. Sampai sekarang pun rapat lagi sebab Adam sekarang satu sekolah dengan Aireil. I was given an honour to do Alya's hantaran. Dua dulung okeh... Ce tengok idung saya.. Kembang kan? Hehehe..

Bapak kuar TV

Adam call atok dia malam tadi. Saja nak ajak sembang. Atok kata dia nak kuar dengan kawan dia. Atok suruh Adam tengok TV pukul 10. Beriyalah si cucu ni pun, siap set alarm.

Tepat pukul 10, tercegatlah kami anak beranak depan TV tu. Tadaaaa..... Muka Atok betul-betul belakang pengacara. Immediately Mak kol. Lepas tu Mak Uteh hantar sms. Adam punyalah excited siap call Che Itam dia. Well... I pun apa kurang. Siap sms to relatives lain. Hahaha...

So, amacam? Femes tak Bapak I? Hahahaha

mama's friend

Tadi Adam cite dia main kejar2 dengan kawan dia nama Aiman Najmi. Peh tu I cakap kat dia "Aiman's mother is my friend". Dia boleh kata "why everybody is your friend?". hahahahaha...

The other day when he was in SK Wangsa Melawati, I told him that I have a friend who is a teacher in his school. Time tu dia tak heran sebab my friend tu sesi petang. Jadi tak kenal dia.

Pastu, bila dia masuk SK Wangsa Jaya ni, the very next day, his classmate came to him and told him "mak saya kenal mak awak". Korek punya korek, rupanya mak that girl was my schoolmate kat SK Lembah Keramat. kehkehkeh..

Small world kan?

Mama Aiman Najmi tu takde la I kenal lagi pun. Kenal di alam maya ni aje lah. It's fun when all faces become familiar because of technology. Mesti you all pernah pandang orang and had a thought "mana aku jumpa dia ni eh?"

Kan? Jangan tipu..... Dosa.......

Hidangan hari raya

We have just had our 1Malaysia Hari Raya at school today. The feeling was great especially with those sporting mat salleh that came down with baju melayu. Well.. Only one that I saw. But nevermind lah!

The food spread was delicious and great except for the satay that was not accompanied with the kuah kacang. Mmm.. Peanut is not allowed in school for health reason. Sigh!

A friend told me her story of hidangan hari raya that she had this year. She was invited for a hari raya do on the 5th day of Syawal and was all excited about it. She was all ready for rendang, lemang, soto and etc, but dissapointed to see only spaghetti and its beef sauce among other kuih raya.

I could share her dissapointment but on the other hand, most people (nowadays) are talking about dieting most of the time and who would eat the oily rendang, the full fat lemang and neither the filling lontong anymore. Correct, right? Furthermore, if you have 3 open houses in a day and if all three serve the same dishes, would you still enjoy your lemang and rendang at the third house? No, right? No matter how delicious the rendang is, you would skip and opt for kerepek in the balang. Kan? Ha... Jangan tipu tau..

Hari raya food are so rich and full filling. I'd opt for more modernized food like satay & catered food myself. Lemang, though it is highly associated with hari raya; is normally out of my list. Nasi impit is a 'yes' as it can be eaten with satay or soto or it can stand alone with its kuah kacang. So i have more options with one dish. Tak gitu?

Anyhow, I enjoyed myself today with 5 sticks of satay, 2 pcs of roti jala, a piece of dodol, a piece of chicken rendang and couple of chocolate cookies. Oh! And 2 glasses of coke.

There goes my diet!!!

Tambi Adam

Adam saw his friend, Alaudin on our trip back from school. As usual, he likes to call Alaudin out loud and waves him bye-bye.

Thus today, nothing was irregular except that Alaudin called him back.

"Bye tambi", said Alaudin.

My silent immediate response was "kureng asam punya budak". And to my own surprise, I responded to Adam..

"Adam, do you know that Tambi means brother? Why does Alaudin call you brother?"

Adam was surprised.

"Really mama? Tambi is brother?"

"Yes. That's why you cannot simply call on people unless you know what it means."

"Oh! Actually Umar (another classmate) calls everybody tambi. I dont know why"

And I imagined Umar with the mamak style having roti canai banjir in his left hand and milo ais on the other hand. Haha...

I'm patting my shoulder with this improvement. I know if the same situation happened 5 years ago, I would have shouted to Alaudin.

Budak-budak datang raya

Dah tak ramai kan skarang ni? Rasa tak meriah pulak.

Baru kejap tadi ni, ada tiga orang budak laki-laki datang nak beraya. Ntah mana la datangnya. Saya pulak rasa happy menyambut budak-budak tu. Tapi sebab baru balik keje, x larat pulak nak menghidang makanan, minuman bagai. Bagi duit raya ajelah..

Dulu best ek kalo jalan beraya. Sakan dengan baju raya, kasut raya bagai. Jalan pegi umah jiran-jiran. Masuk umah ntah sapa-sapa.

"Jomlah.. Aku kenal makcik ni".

Sudahnya ntah umah makcik mana kami pegi. Zaman budak-budak. Best betul.

Semalam pegi raya umah makcik, ada tetamu bawak anak dia yang kusyuk dengan iPad dia. Tak kelih kiri kanan langsung. Alahai... Budak-budak zaman sekarang beraya...

Come to think of it, umah jiran tetangga pun tak pegi lagi ni. Bagi kuih raya aje. Haha... Hampehhh.....

Jalan-jalan raya

Kononnya hari ni nak raya umah kawan-kawan, sedara mara. End up sejam di SJMC. Sigh!

Takpelah... Dapatlah jugak sejam lebih sikit dgn kawan-kawan sekolah dulu. Bersyukur la daripada takde langsung. Mujur kenyang makan nasik lemak umah montok. Kalo tak, berlapo la sampai nak ke sudah hal si adam.

Sorryla ye kawan-kawan.... Takde rezeki nak manja2 ngan korang. Ntah bila nak dapat masanya.... Sedeh :(

Weekend activities

Again - we went swimming at KDE. And they are no longer allowing non-member to swim without an accompanying registered member. Dissapointing regulation when we decided to have it as a regular weekend activities with the kids, including Ammar.

So, what's next?

1) become a member?
We have thought about it before. We come here only to swim. It'll be a waste? Yes?

2) find alternative activities?
Kids will be watching tv. Made will either reading or surfing internet. I'd be.. mmm... sleeping? Hahaha

3) find alternative pool?
The portable pool we have at home is the size of a baby bath tub. That'll be out of the list. Hehe.. We dont live in a condo, so we do not have "our own pool". Anyone wants to have us every weekend? Hahahaha... Public pool? Can do la kan?

OR

Should we do a make over to the house and have a pool of our own?

Sob! Sob!

Opah had dental appointment the other day, so I had to come home early with the kids.

Soon after we reached home, Adam left for sekolah agama with Aireil. Leaving Alesya and myself at home. Alone.

I brought home some works thinking that I have some spare time. As I was sorting the leave application forms, I noticed Alesya was tossing right-left-right-left; restless. I ignored. Then i heard soft sobbings. Alesya's.

I looked at her and my inner feeling told me to put my files away. I looked at her again, and Alesya was smiling in between her sobbings.

I felt so bad that I have ignored her. I'm so sorry my little angel. Mama sorry, ok Asya?

I vow not to bring home works anymore. Well.... I'll try. I should have enough 8 hours to settle my work. All I need is to stay focus on my works & plan my works ahead accordingly. And NO Facebook. Hahaha
